Indeciso: ¿Cuál sedán conviene elegir?
Los pro y los contra. Los tricuerpo son las versiones más buscadas por las familias, principalmente por la habitabilidad que ofrecen, pero sobre todo por la capacidad de sus baúles. Motriz hizo un repaso por los modelos referentes y las versiones que se sumaron en este último tiempo.
La oferta de sedanes medianos no ha tenido demasiadas novedades en este último tiempo en cuanto a modelos nuevos, pero si se se sumaron versiones de los coches que son referente en la categoría. Mayor equipamiento, nuevas cajas y motores con un plus de potencia, son los pilares en el que se apoyaron las nuevas ediciones. Aquí, un repaso por cada una de ellas.
Ford Focus
Gama: Son 4 versiones: S, Se, SE Plus (MT y AT) y Titanium (MT y Titanium AT). El S se ofrece con motor Motor 1.6L Sigma TiVCT de 125CV. Los otros se equipan con el naftero 2.0L Duratec Gdi de 170C. La caja es manual de 5 velocidades o Transmisión Powershift secuencial de 6 velocidades con levas al volante.
Precio: S: $299.500; SE: $340.300; SE Plus: $373.300; SE Plus AT $394.600; Titanium MT: $419.600; Titanium AT: $442.800
No hace falta escalar hasta las versiones más costosas para encontrar buen equipamiento de confort. Por ejemplo, desde la entrada de gama ofrece el sistema de conectividad SYNC. Fue uno de los últimos en actualizarse y ello, en su estética se nota. El Control de Estabilidad, si bien no está de serie, ya aparece en la versión SE Plus. Su consumo promedio es uno de los mejores del grupo (15,3 km/l).
La competencia lo aventaja y mucho cuando de versiones con cajas manuales se trata, ya que la mayoría ofrece ya 6 marchas y el Focus mantiene una de 5 velocidades. Todas sus versiones, tienen rueda de auxilio temporal que no permiten superar los 80 km/h. Su rediseño se acompañó con una reducción de la capacidad de su baúl, el cual pasó de los holgados 526 a unos discretos 421 litros.
El dato: Su versión tope de gama, es decir la Titanium, es la única del segmento que ofrece el revolucionario Sistema de Estacionamiento Asistido, (el conductor puede estacionar sin operar el volante) de la categoría.
Volkswagen Vento
Gama: Son 4 versiones: Advance, Advance Summer Package, Advance Plus y Luxury. Es el que mayor variantes de motorizaciones ofreces. Hablamos de tres: el 2.0 de 115 CV (Advance), 2.5 de 170cv (Advance Plus y Luxury) y 2.0 Tdi de 110cv (Advance). La caja es manual de 5 velocidades o automática Tiptronic de 6.
Precios: 2.0 Advance MT $325.142/ Advance Summer Pack $340.427/ 2.5 Advance Plus MT $373.256/ Tiptronic $392.800/ Luxury MT $388.675/ Luxury Tiptronic $408.276/ 2.0 TDI Advance MT $394.696
Quien se subió alguna vez a un Vento, difícilmente lo reemplace por uno de sus competidores. Es el de mayor confort de marcha y el que dispone mayor equipamiento de seguridad de serie, con detector de fatiga y ESP desde la versión Advance. A partir de la versión Advance Plus agrega airbags de cortina y techo corredizo.
Se le puede recriminar la extrema sobriedad de su diseño y que podría haber aprovechado su último re diseño para actualizar su caja manual de 5 para adoptar una nueva de 6 marchas.
El dato: Su última actualización fue sutil y la recibió en enero del 2015. Es uno de los pocos casos en los que muchos propietarios no se sintieron incentivados por el recambio y decidieron quedarse con su antiguo Vento. Sobre todo con aquel que salió en el 2011. Para este año se anunció el lanzamiento de una nueva versión, llamada Gli. Se trata del reemplazante del Vento 2.0 TSi Sportline (discontinuado), con motor 2.0 turbo, con inyección directa, 211 CV. Tendrá caja secuencial DSG de seis velocidades y será la variante deportiva. 
Toyota Corolla
Gama: Se ofrece en 4 versiones: XLI, XEI, XEI Pack y SE-G. Todas cuentan con el mismo motor 1.8 de 140 CV y con la posibilidad de elegir entre la caja manual de 6 marchas o automática CVT de 7 marchas.
Precios: XLI MT $297.500, CVT $309.500; XEI MT $336.600, CVT $348.900; XEI Pack MT $358.000, CVT $373.200; SE-G MT $376.200, CVT $391.400
Es el único que ofrece la opción de caja automática desde la entrada de gama. En 2015 le sumó Televisión Digital como equipamiento junto a un paquete infotainment (información + entretenimiento) que consiste en más tecnología para cada versión.
No tiene ESP en ninguna de las versiones. Tiene neumático de auxilio temporal. Es el único de la categoría que no ofrece variantes de motorización.
El dato: Es el líder en ventas de la categoría en el país. La capacidad del baúl es de 470 litros. 
Peugeot 408
Gama: Son 4 versiones: Active, Allure, Allure Plus y Feline, con diferentes configuraciones. Se ofrece el motor 1.6 con 115 CV, 2.0 con 143 CV, THP (turbo) con 163cv y 1.6 HDI. La transmisión es manual de 5 velocidades para la versión Active y Allure 2.0; mientras que para la Allure HDI y Plus THP y Feline 1.6 puede ser manual de 6 velocidades o automática secuencial Tiptronic (solo en la Feline).
Precios: Active $284.500, Allure 2.0 MT $335.300, Allure Plus $379.200; Feline THP Tiptronic $408.800; Allure HDI $340.300, Feline HDI $386.400
Es uno de los pocos que ofrece con una variante diésel. En comparación del resto, es el de mayor espacio puertas adentro. Su último rediseño lo tuvo en en agosto del 2015. Allí se retoco el setting de sus suspensiones y se optimizó el confort. Fue mejorado el confort acústico y la insonorización del habitáculo mediante la selección de nuevos materiales. Aplausos para el desempeño de su motor HDI, el cual prácticamente no gasta nada.
Mientras todas las marcas venden modelos globales, en la Argentina se comercializa un restyling de la versión 2011. Si bien recibió hace menos de un año su re diseño, es el más austero y simple de imagen. Dejó de ofrecer luces de Xenon en las versiones más equipadas. Su versión Sport, sigue discontinuada.
El dato: Se vendieron 1223 unidades entre los meses de enero y febrero. Es el cuarto sedán más vendido, detrás del Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus y Citroen C4 Lounge, respectivamente.
Citroën C4 Lounge
Gama: Son 6 versiones: Origine, Tendance Pack, THP Tendance HDI Tendance y THP Exclusive y el S. Las dos primeras se ofrecen con motor 2.0 de 143cv. Otra opción es el motor diesel HDI de 115cv y las versiones con motor THP de 163cv. Luego sumó el C4 Lounge S con motor THP de 165 cv, siendo este el más deportivo. Con las dos primeras versiones la caja puede ser manual de 5 velocidades. Para el diesel es caja manual de 6 velocidades. Y para los motores THP automática de 6 marchas.
Precios: Origine $305.000; Tendance Pack $342.500; THP Tendance AT $353.500; 1.6 HDI TENDANCE $342.500; THP Exclusive $395.000.
Es el que mayor combinación de motores y cajas, ofrece. Todas las versiones, cuentan con un buen nivel de equipamiento. Se equipa con el mismo motor diésel que impulsa al Peugeot 408, de modo que también elogiamos la versión con dicho motor.
Para encontrar el control de estabilidad hay que escalar hasta la versión más costosa (Exclusive Pack Select). El motor 2.0 que equipa a las versiones Origine, Tendance y Tendance Pack, tiene muchos años en el mercado. Su caja manual es solo de 5 marchas.
El dato: El C4 Lounge se lanzó en 2013, fabricado en El Palomar. Luego se fueron realizando diferentes animaciones de gama, mejorando las versiones intermedias. A fines del año pasado se sumó la versión S, la más rabiosa con el motor 1.6 THP de 165 CV y llantas de 17”.
Honda Civic
Gama: Se ofrece una versión, EXS. Cuenta con un motor 1.8 16v iVtec de 140 cv. Se ofrece con caja manual de 6 marchas o automática de 5, con levas al volante.
Precios: EXS AT $390.000.
Su edición 2016 se presentó en agosto del año pasado. Llega por primera vez a nuestro mercado con el Control de Estabilidad.
Su último rediseño fue muy escueto. Solo una parrilla frontal nueva, y un nuevo color de su consola, son los más sobresalientes. El resto se mantuvo inalterado. Al momento de su lanzamiento se ofrecían tres versiones. Hoy, solo se comercializa una: EXS, la más equipada y por ende la más costosa de todas.
El dato: Se espera que llegue su décima generación el próximo mes de enero del 2017.
Renault Fluence
Gama: Son tres versiones con múltiples combinaciones, que dan lugar a 12 propuestas: Dynamique, Luxe y Privilege. Además, se sumó una opción Sport llamada GT2. Las opciones de motorización son dos, 1.6 de 110cv y 2.0 de 143cv. Se ofrecen con caja manual de 5 velocidades para la entrada de gama. Luego las opciones son manual de 6 marchas o CVT.
Precios: 1.6 Dynamique $299.900, 1.6 Dynamique Pack $309.400, Luxe 2.0 $341.000, Luxe Pack 2.0 $362.100, Luxe CVT $363.700, Luxe Pack Cuero 2.0 $370.500, Luxe Pack Cuero CVT $381.300, Privilege 2.0 $399.400, Privilege 2.0 CVT $414.000, GT2 2.0 $436.600.
La denominada Fase 2, le introdujo una inyección de juventud al modelo que se fabrica en Córdoba. Tiene una gran cantidad de versiones que permiten acceder a su motor 2.0 y caja manual de 6, sin escalar demasiado en versiones. Su gran espacio interior y su enorme baúl de 530 litros, lo ubican entre los ideales para familias de 5 integrantes.
Puertas adentro, es uno de los más austeros. Si bien sumó luces LEDs, en su trompa, no dispone de faros de Xenón.
El dato: Se lanzó a fines de 2014 con nuevo diseño y se completó la oferta en 2015. Lo interesante es que la cantidad de versiones le permite ofrecer variado equipamiento desde entrada de gama. El Sport se fabrica en la Argentina.
Nissan Sentra
Gama: Son 3 versiones: Sense, Advance y SR . Se ofrece con motor naftero 1.8 de 131 cv. La caja es manual de 6 marchas para las dos primeras versiones o automática CVT para la SR.
Precios: $289.700 (Sense MT) $316.200 (Advance 1.8 MT) y $339.000 (SR CVT)
Su séptima generación es la más lograda de todas y la de mayor proporción. Tal es así que el modelo aumentó de dimensiones, lo que repercutió directamente en las plazas traseras y en su baúl (aumentó de 442 litros a 503) de modo que pueden viajar 3 adultos cómodos atrás. Mejoró muchísima su estética y recibió soluciones en su insonorización y en su suspensión. Sus frenos y su dirección eléctrica son sus grandes caballitos de batalla.
