Fiat – Mitsubishi ¿Nace una nueva pick up?
Hace algunos meses fue sólo un rumor, pero ahora empieza a tomar forma. Las automotrices italiana y japonesa estarían más cerca de poner en práctica un ambicioso plan. Acá anticipamos algunos detalles.
De manera oficial, y después de varios rumores, Mitsubishi y Fiat firmaron un memorando de entendimiento a partir del cual la asiática comenzaría a trabajar en un interesante proyecto para ampliar la oferta de vehículos para el trabajo de su par europea.
La versión comenzó a circular hace ya varios meses, cuando Sergio Marchionne presentó el plan de FCA, la empresa creada tras la fusión de Fiat y Chrysler. Entonces, un anuncio confuso, indicaba que la firma iba a lanzar una nueva pick-up para Fiat Professional, que se comercializará en Europa y América Latina. Pero no se explicaba nada sobre el modelo.
Las primeras especulaciones hablaban de una nueva versión de la exitosa Fiat Strada, pero el plan parecía esconder algo más grande. Hasta que Automotive News reveló que el vehículo en potencia será gemelo de la Mitsubishi L200, y que la idea central sería reforzar la oferta de vehículos de trabajo de la italiana.
Ahora, con el acuerdo firmado entre las marcas, hay una mayor certeza acerca de la concreción del plan. Además, resurge la propuesta de utilizar como plataforma a la L200 de nueva generación que saldrá próximamente al mercado.
