Con una caída de 32% en las ventas, el sector de motovehículos cerró un año para el olvido, superando aún a las automotrices en pérdida de mercado, las cuales se derrumbaron un 28 por ciento. De acuerdo a los datos de la Asociación Argentina de Motovehículos (MOTTOS), la cantidad de motos patentadas durante diciembre pasado fue de 28.929 unidades. Si la comparación se realiza contra noviembre de 2014, el mercado también tuvo una baja del 11%, cuando se patentaron 32.504 unidades. De esta manera, con un acumulado anual de 483.736, el mercado del 2014 fue el más bajo desde 2010, según indican los datos históricos de la entidad que representa a los concesionarios.
La fuerte caída del mercado de motos había sido advertida en enero del 2014 por los principales directivos de MOTTOS, quienes habían señalado que la devaluación del peso afectó el crédito personal, que es la principal forma de financiación usada en el sector.
A eso, se le sumó la aplicación de las nuevas alícuotas de impuestos internos que impulsó el gobierno tanto para autos como para vehículos de lujo, medida que afectó a las motos de mayor cilindrada y valor.
En el primer bimestre de año pasado, el mercado se desplomó 50%, pero el segmento de las motos de más de 250 cc se derrumbó 70 por ciento.
El gobierno intentó contrarrestar el efecto negativo del entorno económico sobre ese mercado, mediante la inclusión de algunos modelos de motos en el Programa Precios Cuidados, pero que no tuvo mayor incidencia.
Ranking por marcas
De acuerdo a los resultados de todo el año, Honda se consagró como la número uno en ventas, con 114.364 unidades vendidas. Le sigue Motomel en segundo lugar y Yamaha en tercero. Este es el top ten:

Diego Dinitz, presidente de MOTTOS, dijo que “acabamos de cerrar un año difícil, en el que comenzamos declarado la emergencia económica y finalizamos presentando un plan para el desarrollo del mercado para el 2015 que, vale decir, ha sido muy bien recepcionado por el Gobierno Nacional. Prueba de ello ha sido la actualización del piso a partir del cual comienza a aplicarse los impuestos internos, y también la continuidad del programa Precios Cuidados para los motovehículos, que es un sostenedor importante de la demanda. Además hemos tomado conocimiento de que va a haber un aumento de la cantidad de divisas que requiere el sector industrial para la adquisición de las partes que se ensamblan en nuestro país, algo fundamental para tener una producción que nos asegure al abastecimiento en nuestros concesionarios. Las próximas semanas serán de mucha trabajo para monitorear la implementación de todas estas medidas que en su momento sugerimos y que hasta ahora se vienen cumpliendo”, completó Dinitz.
