Diez trucos para ahorrar combustible
Con el aumento del precio de las naftas, los cálculos para salir en auto son cada vez más frecuentes. Aquí una serie de recomendaciones para consumir menos y mejorar el presupuesto
El precio de las naftas y del gas oil pasó a ser un tema preocupante para todo aquel que usa un vehículo, quienes no piensan únicamente en el costo del seguro o la patente, sino también en cuánto combustible demandará por salida.
En este contexto, los expertos recomiendan pequeños trucos para poder ahorrar, más allá del tipo de motor y del uso cotidiano de la unidad. Estas son las 10 claves para tener en cuenta:
1. Arranque y puesta en marcha: La primera recomendación es arrancar la marcha inmediatamente después del encendido del auto, salvo que el coche disponga de un propulsor turboalimentado, en cuyo caso convendrá esperar unos segundos antes de empezar a rodar.
2. Primera marcha. Solo hay que utilizarla para la salida pero, una vez haya empezado a moverse el vehículo, a los dos segundos o seis metros recorridos, habrá de cambiarse rápidamente a la segunda.
3. Aceleración y cambio de marchas. En autos nafteros, el momento óptimo para cambiar de marcha se sitúa entre las 2.000 y las 2.500 revoluciones por minuto; en los diésel, este intervalo baja hasta las 1.500-2.000 rpm. Lo ideal es acelerar justo después de engranar la marcha superior.
4. Utilización de las marchas. Circular el máximo tiempo posible en las marchas más largas y a bajas revoluciones. En ciudad, circular siempre que pueda en cuarta o quinta, respetando los límites de velocidad.
5. Velocidad de circulación. Conviene mantener la marcha con la velocidad más uniforme posible, buscando fluidez en la circulación y evitando los frenazos, las ‘aceleradas’ y los cambios de marcha innecesarios.
6. Desaceleración. Siempre que sea posible, la primera decisión cuando se quiera reducir la velocidad debe ser levantar el pie del pedal del acelerador y dejar rodar el vehículo con la marcha seleccionada en ese instante. Cuando se precise, pisar suavemente el pedal del freno.
7. Detención. Siempre que la velocidad y el espacio lo permitan, se debe detener el coche sin reducir previamente de marcha.
8. Paradas. En paradas prolongadas (más de 60 segundos), es siempre recomendable apagar el motor.
9. Anticipación y previsión. Conviene conducir siempre con una adecuada distancia de seguridad y un amplio campo de visión que permita prever cualquier imprevisto con el fin de tener tiempo suficiente para poner en práctica los consejos anteriores.
10. Seguridad. Aunque en la mayoría de situaciones aplicar estas reglas de conducción eficiente contribuye, además de al ahorro, también al aumento de la seguridad vial, cabe recordar que, ante circunstancias excepcionales que requieran acciones específicas distintas, debe prevalecer la actuación orientada a garantizar la seguridad.
